The Majestic Map Pack is now available for download. For map pass owners it’s free. Otherwise it retails for 2000 MS Points. The Majestic Map Pack retails for 800 MS Points or around $10.00. This map pack includes Landfall, Monolith and Skyline and adds 10 new achievements to Halo 4.
Hacker and Teleporter Armor Abilities were found in the code of Halo 4. My title is less attention grabbing than Halo Councils, but still just as efficient. These aren’t confirmed to be in later DLC’s or additions to the game. Most likely these were never really meant to be seen. So watch!
The Crimson map pack was released Monday and due to some technical issues 343i and Microsoft encountered with the War Games Map Pass and the Limited Edition Map Pass. Initially pass holders were unable to download the maps free of charge, so 343 jumped on it and solved the problem. However, this allowed a number of non-pass holders to snag the maps free of charge. Initial responses from Microsoft were generally positive, saying that the lucky few who grabbed them for free would not be charged. This was quickly changed today when Halo Waypoint posted about their “14 Day – Buy an Play.” It appears 343i and Microsoft are recovering from this technical glitch by allowing those who received the maps for free a ‘trial’ of sorts to the maps until the 18th. While this no doubt will leave those few dissapointed, Microsoft and 343i are still allowing use of the maps for 14 days, so hey, a free 14 days is a free 14 days. Many of you participated in our “14 Day – Buy and Play” program, a special offer that granted early access to six Specializations. As part of that program, we are providing complimentary access to the Crimson Map Pack for a limited time (through Tuesday, December 18 at 9am UTC/GMT). At that time, the complimentary limited access to the Crimson Map Pack will close, and “14 Day – Buy and Play” program participants will no longer be able to access the content for online play (please note anybody who has already purchased the Crimson Map Pack or owns the Halo 4 Map Pass or Limited Edition will not be impacted and will continue to have access to the content after the complimentary access period ends).
Today 343i released the first Halo 4 Map pack, consisting of 3 maps: Harvest, Shatter and Wreckage. Those with the LE or War Games Map Pass can now download the maps free of charge, and those without can download the pack for 800 Microsoft Points.

Both SWAT and Spartan Ops Episode 2 are live and able to be played as of this morning. If you haven’t played yet, then go ahead and jump in! We’ll likely see some SWAT and Spartan Ops Episode 2 related challenges for this week. SWAT will allow players to start with the BR or DMR and will have very specific settings but are very similar to the last variant of SWAT in Halo: Reach. Go ahead and hop into whichever one you prefer!
The mysterious artifact recovered from Requiem takes control of vital systems on board the UNSC Infinity, forcing the Spartans of Crimson and Majestic back down to the planet to look for a way to free the ship. Commander Lasky and the UNSC need you, Spartan… get back in the game!

Halo 4 Matchmaking updates will occur on a more frequent basis than what you’re accustomed to with Reach. Instead of monthly updates, we will be providing weekly updates, with the goal being to provide fresh content on a regular basis. We will maintain a static set of playlists and feature one or two “rotational” playlists on top of that. We will be monitoring trends and statistics closely so we can react accordingly to your preferences and likes. For instance, if one of our rotational playlists consistently holds a higher population than one of our static playlists, we will consider swapping them out based on player demand. The process will be fluid and based on numbers, and we’re extremely excited about the benefits of our new approach.
So, what brand new playlist do you get next week? You get everybody’s favorite “Boom, headshot!” game type. Oh yes, it’s time for SWAT! By the way, please excuse the sobbing you might be hearing right now. It’s Frankie, weeping his man-tears of joy.
